Family Cultural & Talent Event  2026

Family Cultural & Talent Event
Date: 25th July 2026, Saturday
Venue: Aiyavoo Mahal, Mini Hall , Aminjikarai, Chennai
Time: 5 PM to 9:00 PM

The PSG Tech Alumni Association, Chennai Chapter organised its Flagship  Family Cultural & Talent (FCT) Event on 25th July 2026 at Aiyavoo Mahal, Aminjikarai. FCT was first conducted in 2019 at the same place. During covid, it was taken online for 2 years  and was brought back to physical mode in the same venue. The evening was a vibrant celebration of talent, family, friendship and the enduring spirit of the PSG Tech community.

The event received an overwhelming response with 110 registrations, 80 attendees, 22 performers and an impressive 26 performances.

A Celebration Across Generations

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the evening was the participation of alumni spanning generations — from the 1972 batch all the way to the 2026 batch. Despite the decades separating their college years, everyone came together with the same enthusiasm and energy, making the evening truly feel like a family reunion of the PSG Tech Chennai Chapter.

The participation extended beyond the alumni themselves, with family members enthusiastically taking to the stage. From Pre-KG children and teenagers to senior members, there was truly no age bar and no limit to participation. The event beautifully demonstrated that the PSG Tech family extends across generations.

A Grand Showcase of Talent

The evening featured a wonderful variety of 26 performances, including vocal , instrumental music, a kids’ show, Yoga Freeze Dance and Tirukural recitals. Every performance brought its own flavour and added to the energy of the evening.

A special mention goes to Giri, our senior alumnus from the 1984 batch, who added a unique flavour to the programme with his distinctive style and enthusiastic singing. His abundant knowledge and passion for music also saw him guiding and encouraging fellow singers throughout the event.

His special voice was so well received that the audience called for “once more”, adding to the memorable moments of the evening. The Veena performance was another highlight and attracted considerable appreciation. The young girl who performed on the Veena received an exciting opportunity to join and perform with Giri’s orchestra, making the evening even more special for her.

The Yoga Freeze Dance was undoubtedly one of the most unique and engaging elements of the programme. Rather than being limited to the performers, the activity involved the entire audience, who enthusiastically joined in with dance movements and yoga postures.

The hall came alive with laughter, energy and spontaneous participation, making it a truly inclusive and memorable experience. It was a perfect example of how the FCT Event brought everyone together — not merely as spectators, but as participants.

The event also stood out for its innovative promotional initiatives, which helped build excitement and participation well before the day of the programme.

  • The FCT–FIFA Challenge, creatively connecting the event with the ongoing sporting excitement and generating greater engagement.
  • Video promotions by members of the organising team, featuring locations ranging from the Himalayas to Anaikatti, adding a personal and adventurous touch to the campaign.
  • Beautiful invitation and promotional videos by the performers themselves, which brought out their enthusiasm and helped create anticipation for the event.

These initiatives not only promoted the event but also helped create a sense of community and excitement among the members.

A Grand Finale

The evening concluded on a high note, with the entire gathering coming together to dance to fast-paced music, followed by a sumptuous dinner supplied by our own young Alumna Shwetha. . The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter and camaraderie as alumni, families, performers and guests celebrated together.

It was an evening where batches became one, families became performers, and the entire PSG Tech community came together to celebrate, connect and create memories.

The overwhelming response and positive feedback have inspired the chapter to make the Badminton Festival a signature annual event. More than just a tournament, it celebrated the values that define the PSG Tech alumni family—fitness, friendship, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong connections.

Here’s to many more years of smashing rallies, stronger friendships, and an even larger alumni family!
